이선영교수는 서울대학교 건축학과에서 학사와 석사과정을 마쳤으며 U.C. Berkeley에서 M.Arch과 University of Hawaii에서 Arch.D를 받았다. 보스톤 Woo&Williams, Bruner/Cott에서 실무를 쌓고 Boston Architectural Center에서 설계를 가르쳤으며 텍사스의 Lake/Flato, Marmon/Mok Project Architect를 거쳐 Prairie View A&M University(Texas A&M System)건축과 교수를 역임하였다. 2007년 풀브라이트 방문교수였으며 한국과 미국의 등록건축사이고 서울시 공공건축가로 활동 중이다.
지속가능한 환경을 기반으로 건축의 장소성과 젠더문제에 집중하여 연구와 설계를 진행중이며 교육환경에 특화되어있다.
주요작품으로 진성빌딩, San Antonio Academy 다목적홀, Texas Lutheran College 학생회관 리노베이션, 서울대학교 핵재료실험동, 중곡동 주민센터, 등이 있다.
